Rachel Morrison: You’re suddenly seeing every pore on a person’s face.
Eric Reynolds: They’re crazy expensive.
Morrison: Yeah. A little bit.
Reynolds: It just seems unsustainable.
Morrison: It makes me very nervous.

Reynolds: The underground guys paved the way to just doing whatever you want, but they were still very transgressive.
Morrison: There are films that I find just abhorrent, and they’re applauding like it’s the best thing they’ve ever seen.
Reynolds: It’s just success. (laughs) That’s not for everybody.
Morrison: You can do it to different degrees.
Reynolds: In a lot of ways it did happen, but in a lot of ways it didn’t.

Morrison: So sometimes, yes, it’s about tracking the sun.
Reynolds: I think when I was in my 20s I didn’t realize that.
Morrison: Black is our contrast; black is our stakes.
Reynolds: I guess that’s the best way to put it. I certainly experienced that.
Morrison: I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say yet. But you just never know.
