It seems that, according to the document at the end of the Metafilter article, Senator Kyl would have been correct had he simply stated "90% of the services provided specifically to pregnant women are abortions". This was an unfortunate mistake on his part, but not too large I wouldn't say, the senator simply forgot to limit what he said to the proper group that the information pertained to. Interestingly enough, one of Planned Parenthood's recent documents states that it only had 977 adoption referalls in 2009 (this is national), compared to its 332,278 abortions. I'm sure the adoption process is difficult and time consuming, but I wish there was less of a gap between the two numbers; so many unwanted children.
"Planned Parenthood touts its “preventive services” but they all seem to have failed to prevent the problems they claim to solve. Rates of non-marital births and sexually transmitted diseases are increasing, and rates of abortion remain very high or are increasing." All of that is true...in red states.
