SI's Joe Posnanski counts down 14 surprising facts about baseball, including this doozy: Johnny Damon now has more hits (2662) than Ted Williams (2654).
Don't know how I missed this one. Demon is slowly on his way to the hall, and I don't know how I feel about it. He's had a great career, but he just doesn't seem like an HOF. The other "crazy facts" were either a little obvious or completely inconsequential. Ron Kittle had more Home Run's per at bat that Lou Gehrig. So what? Gehrig also had a ton more at bats than Kittle. Of course Kittle's going to have more home runs per at bat. The Demon fact is interesting, though, I'm going to be thinking about that one.
