Now, admittedly, Coppertone (currently owned by Merck) isn’t exactly in fashion, with designer sunscreens hogging the market. Maybe that’s because the company, at the turn of this century, ditched the iconic Coppertone Girl, created in 1953 by Tally Embry Advertising, for a less revealing image. Who says the U.S. has become less prudish? We’d say the gal above, with a little tailoring, would sell a lot more units of the gunk if Merck wised up.

this.
