Trippity Doo Da

BT "1.618"

Dudes, just chill out to the trance music of BT and watch the visuals inspired by the Golden Ratio, the math problem that may or may not be the perceptual source of all beauty.

The following video was included in this article:

BT will hypnotize you with his music, which you may have heard in the 2001 *NSync song "Pop." But hopefully you were smart enough to avoid that whole boy band nonsense.

Discussion
  • If this guy's responsible for this boring slog AND an nsync song, can we lobby for a citizen's arrest?

  • Honestly I'm surprised anyone can think that music this slow and boring is "awesome." At best it's inoffensive background music to a neat, if exaggerated, visual presentation. Further, I don't understand what "ZOMG" means, and I can't even begin to comprehend what inane, petty little difference there is between "trance" and "atmospheric/ambient" music. Although I'm sure someone out there could tell me.

  • dan_glada, you're right, when it comes to this kind of music I don't know anything about the genres. If you'd like to explain the difference you're welcome to.

  • Oh right, the widely accepted academic source of Encyclopedia Dramatica. Personally I just think it's stupid to use those kinds of acronyms in the first place. Even when you're commenting/typing on the Internet, you are still processing and interpreting your thoughts and reactions. You're not shouting at another person standing next to you, so ditch the exclamations and string actual words together to form sentences.

  • The term Experimental/Ambient makes me think about getting high while in a mall.

  • Don't bring Eno into this. He deserves a better legacy. Listen to "Needles in the Camel's Eye" or "St. Elmo's Fire" and tell BT to grow a pair.

  • I'm with you Tejas, except forget the mall part. I like to get stoned while in Little Tokyo here in L.A. Coolest part of town.

  • as far as i understand it ambient can cover any kind of electronic music that isn't dance music, from milton babbit to philip glass to brian eno. Kind of like a ballad in the techno world. of course I don't really know/care because I'm not 1) european or 2) european.
