Neil Young's Latest

The kinda track that makes you wonder just how the hell someone this old is rocking this hard.

Neil Young's newest track, "Fork in the Road," the title track off his forthcoming (and somewhat controversal) album, is a totally simple, totally Neil Young incarnation with simple lyrics (..."salute the troops"..."they're all still there"..."in a fuckin' war"..."it's no good"...).

It's the kind of track that makes you wonder just how the hell someone this old is playing something this hard—the video is pretty much just his ugly mug and an apple the whole time: kinda screwy, definitely apropo to Zach Kaufmann's piece on Neil Young. He looks ugly as hell in the video, and his lyrics are about "the face of america." He's just standing there with his really middle-American look in front of a really middle-American frontyard with vertical planks and the country screen door on his house. The whole thing comes across like he's some average lower middle-class dude from the Midwest, the kind that might have voted for Bush in 2004 but for Obama in 2008, bitching about the current American political/economical situation ("...there's a baaaaailout comin' but its not for me").
