Extra Golden is on a short jaunt to Europe, but they'll be in the U.S. for a month starting July 17th.
Splice favorites Extra Golden are currently touring on their second album, Hera Ma Nono. Their ties to the U.S. run deep, including an intervention on their behalf by Barack Obama for the two Kenyan members of the group who needed visas during their first tour in 2006. When Hera Ma Nono was recorded at the end of the tour, they thanked Obama in a song as part of a benga music tradition. Here "Obama" is cut with video from live performances in Kenya.
