"The iPhone, which I happily torched in this space not long ago, is a
little less horrible thanks to system updates and a price drop. I still
don't recommend it except for those people who have to have the next
big thing or need a smartphone.
The MacBook Air, however, is still hopeless.
The manila-envelope-sized laptop hit stores early this year for $1,799, and I still stand by most of what I said.
Some
people have told me I'm anti-Apple, but that's not true. I'm actually
planning on getting a MacBook myself soon ($100 discounts make a
difference). I just hate it when Apple gets people to pay more to get
less and call it stylish.
"Mass Effect" is hitting the PC at the end of the month, with its RPG action and lesbian alien sex intact.
I can't believe I just wrote that sentence.
The second set, the Legendary Map Pack, hit last month, boasting three
maps (two remakes from older games, one new) for $10. Bungie is
reportedly working on the next map pack in secrecy, alongside other
top-secret projects.
"Portal," a game I hailed a few months ago,
will also have a sequel. Other than the fact that it's been announced
and its vague 2009 release date, nothing about the sequel is really
known.
