Really?
A. Can this possibly be real? and B. who conceptualized this commercial?

I'm seeing this technique creep up a lot in ads - it was used to a much more subtle effect last year during the NBA finals with those split-screens of two various players. If you looked closely, they all blinked at the same time. This is the same principle (compositing different expression footage with actual footage on the fly), but must have taken a ton more time. As for the creative on the commercial, my guess would be Juan Cabral, the guy behind Cadbury's last great commercial: http://www.chocablog.com/misc/cadbury-gorilla-advert/
Fabulous, especially the girl with the balloon a the end. British commercials are on a weird kind of roll...makes me wish I had a TV to go along with living in the UK. Though this doesn't quite beat T Mobile's commercial from Liverpool St. station in London: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUZrrbgCdYc
